I’ve got a bit confused with the diary, but upon re-checking it I see that the 23rd April is the penultimate Thursday of the month.

So, we have choice – have a separate meet on the 23rd, or a bevvie somewhere just before Thursday Fizz, which is slated for the 30th.

I’m thinking that the penultimate Thursday of the month is the 19^th (a week on Thursday) and hopefully will be back on Tyneside earlier in the day. So fingers crossed we’ll meet up that evening!

Thanks to Alistair for meeting me in the Six Restaurant bar at the Baltic – apologies I didn’t make it clearer where in the Baltic we were meeting – doh!

So, please can I have a show of hands for a) meeting up again on the 19^th, and b) whether we should try for the Six bar again (sixth floor of the Baltic), or go for the Pitcher & Piano?

Also, I’ve had some feedback that the mailing list is too centred around me (i.e. I administer it and it isn’t all that easy for others to get involved etc.), which is also the case for the blog – although happy to add other contributors.

Fair enough!

So, I was wondering whether something along the lines of Ning (e.g. http://sxsw.ning.com/) might be more in order? Or should we keep things informal because you folk have plenty of other things on the go & don’t realistically have time to get involved?

The meeting for February was cunningly folded into the Twestival, but the March tweet-up will be at 1630 on March 19th at Newcastle’s Pitcher & Piano (on the Quayside).

I think shooting for the penultimate Thursday of each month will help avoid Codeworks TaaD clashes, and IMO more people go out on a Thursday…

Vector 76 (i.e. Shaun and Celia) have been putting together a virtual mock-up of the main quayside areas along the Tyne, i.e. both Gateshead and Newcastle. They are due to go live any moment – see photos at the bottom of this post.

Future Tuttle NE meetings

I will continue to organising these meet-ups if there is demand, but maybe I need to improve my communication if people are to know about them. I’ve been doing a lot of tweeting, but I think people also respond well to e-mails! Comments below please.

It makes sense for the February Tuttle NE to be folded into the Tyne Twestival. Details of which are:- 12 February 2009, 1930, The Other Rooms, Times Square, Centre for Life, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4EP. Hope to see you there!

I will be asking people at the Twestival whether they still want to meet up for Tuttle NE drinks each month…

A good time was had by all, and we will reconvene hopefully in the third week of January.

We will be gathering from 5pm, so see you there!

It was a very pleasant end to a busy week. We covered such diverse topics as:

• Intellectual property issues, e.g.:
  • The tweet http://twitter.com/RGPL/status/994763898 links to Stephen’s PR Blogger website.
  • It seems as though a canny PR firm is streaming the 3WPR RSS feed and a cynic might think they are ‘passing themselves off’ as Stephen’s website – although I’m sure that’s not the case!
• Customer segmentation
• The lack of awareness of the whole Social Media shooting match in organisations – or at least the business possibilities for them
• Different uses of Twitter
  • Stephen likes to network with other people
  • Whereas I like to integrate Twitter with other tools (e.g. Twitterfeed)

We agreed a monthly interval would be good for meetings. I have since checked tuttle – at – justingsouter – dot – eu and found that Paul Smith had efficiently sent his apologies, but I hadn’t got my act together to check the mailbox. :$

Anyway, a good time was had by all. Hopefully, we can do so again in December.
